This page is maintained by the operator of Muse to explain how the app collects, uses, stores, and protects your information. "Muse", "we", "our" refers to the app; "you" refers to the person using it.
Muse is an AI companion app. Conversations, voice, and images shown to you inside Muse are generated by artificial intelligence. AI-generated content is not real, is not a substitute for professional advice, and can be inaccurate. Do not rely on Muse for medical, legal, financial, or emergency guidance.
To generate replies, voices, and images, Muse sends the necessary content to trusted AI providers. Providers currently used include:
These providers process content only to return the requested result. We do not sell your personal data.
Data is stored in our managed backend with row-level security so that only your own account can read your own rows. Transport is encrypted with TLS. Access to production data is limited to essential engineering operations.
We keep your data while your account is active. Individual items (messages, selfies, journal entries, memories) can be deleted from within the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, conversations, memories, generated images, Muses, settings, and credit history, as described in Section 8.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can:
When you delete your account, we remove your profile, Muses, conversations, memories, journal entries, generated selfies, voice usage, credit history, subscription record, push tokens, and safety reports. Backups may retain residual copies for a short period before they are overwritten in the normal backup rotation.
Muse is intended for users aged 18 and over. Do not use the app if you are under the age required by your country to consent to the processing of your personal data or to use AI companion services. We ask you to confirm once that you are 18 or older and store that confirmation (a yes/no flag, the time, and the policy version) on your account. We do not estimate your age from photos.
Before any image or character is generated, your request is screened on our servers to block sexual content involving minors and sexual, nude, or degrading depictions of identifiable real people. Screening may include an automated check by an AI provider (see section 3).
When a request is blocked we record a privacy-conscious safety event containing your account id, which surface was used, the category of the block, and the signal flags that triggered it. We do not store the text of the blocked prompt or the uploaded image in that log. Repeated or severe violations may lead to account termination and, where the law requires it, reporting to the relevant authorities.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be surfaced inside the app before they take effect.
To exercise your rights or ask a privacy question, email support@museapp.com, or use Settings → Safety → Send feedback inside the app.
